ONLINE SALES OUTPERFORMING HIGH STREET
The report found that, despite the recession, UK online shoppers had spent an average of £10 more per visit in April 2009 than this time a year ago. The average online shopping basket value increased from £121.69 in April 2008 to £131.76 in April 2009.

Although retail sales have grown annually, the report showed a slight decline of 2% between March and April 2009 overall, but the Beers, Wines & Spirit sector showed the strongest monthly growth in April (10%).
